Role: Jessamy’s role includes the provision of strategic, demographic and property advice for a wide variety of planning applications for elderly care homes, retirement living, housing with care and care villages. Concentrating on the assessment of current and future need for care beds and housing with care for older people to support planning applications, Jessamy is used to working as part of a multi-disciplinary team on behalf of care operators, developers and landowners and regularly acts as an expert witness in planning hearings and inquiries.
Background: Jessamy is a chartered surveyor with over 20 years’ experience working within a specialist healthcare property team with a focus on the social care sector. Her experience includes the valuation, acquisition and sale of operational care businesses, alongside the provision of bespoke consultancy to clients as part of the planning process. Jessamy was previously a director in the healthcare team of a national surveying practice, having graduated from Royal Holloway, University of London with a BSc (Hons) in Geography and a MSc in Land Management from the University of Reading.
Passion: In her spare time, Jessamy is usually to be found at the swimming pool, hockey pitch, watching the rowing, or enjoying concerts, where support and encouragement is always required by the family!
