Carterwood are delighted to once again support the Care England annual conference, being held tomorrow in London. The theme for this year’s conference is ‘Workforce Matters’, and it aims to shine a spotlight on the social care workforce and the steps being taken to meet the challenges of effective care delivery in today’s economic climate.
Tom Hartley will be hosting a workshop in the Herbert Baker Room from 2.15 p.m. The title of this year’s workshop is ‘Tom’s The price is right’; the workshop will explore the suitability of care home fee rates across the UK. Carterwood have recently completed research into weekly fee rates across the elderly care home sector, and it’s clear from this research that many operators do not have access to the right data, and the information available doesn’t always help inform decision making. Carterwood’s research highlights current trends across the UK and identifies key drivers to achieving higher weekly fee rates to offset ever increasing costs. This workshop will appeal to operators of elderly care homes across the UK. We look forward to seeing you there!
You will be able to find Amanda Nurse, Tom Hartley and other members of the Carterwood team at Stand 11 in the assembly hall, where they will be demonstrating our new Carterwood Analytics online platform. With workforce and availability of staffing being a recognised concern for operators, developers and funders, we are looking forward to showcasing our new staffing data and thematic mapping, which will help to estimate the staffing size for any given market. The number of registered nurses and the key demographic target profile for care assistants is calculated automatically for any catchment area, and for registered nurses we also include a breakdown of nationality between domestic, EU and other overseas staff.
Talking about the theme of the conference, Professor Martin Green OBE commented ‘Workforce Matters is a conference theme which underlines the importance of the workforce, our most valuable asset. We have put together a first-rate line-up of speakers who will share their perspectives on the staffing issues which the sector has to confront’.
