We are delighted to announce our continued partnership with The Associated Retirement Community Operators (ARCO) as one of the main sponsors of its annual conference in May 2017.
Entitled “What next? 2017? – a formative year for housing-with-care”, this year’s conference will bring together the latest thinking from leading operators, thinkers and regulators in the retirement sector. It will run over two days, 10 and 11 May, and will take place at the Congress Centre in London.
The first day will analyse current developments, and consider how providers can harness opportunities, overcome challenges, and adapt to meet the needs of the next generation of older people. The second day of the conference involves a Knowledge Exchange Day, giving delegates the chance to gain in-depth insight and engage in rigorous discussion through a range of workshops and tours.
Ben Hartley, director, will run one of the Knowledge Exchange Day workshops, with an interactive presentation entitled “Setting up the village shop”. In the workshop Ben will outline the major features of the UK retirement village market and provide a shopping list for anyone seeking to explore opportunities within this fast growing sector. Areas to be covered include: village composition, locational considerations, operational models, tenure and sales strategy, pricing strategy and revenue generation.
Amanda Nurse commented, “Carterwood have been working with ARCO as an Affiliate member for a while and we are delighted to be sponsoring the ARCO annual conference the first time, after last year’s successful inaugural conference. It brings together both the not-for-profit and commercial sectors, and with a programme designed to address the strategic and operational issues facing the sector it will be an extremely valuable two-day conference for anyone in the retirement sector”.
Michael Voges, executive director of ARCO said, “The interest we are currently seeing in the retirement community sector is unprecedented. Carterwood have been a trusted partner for many of our members for years now, and are providing the key intelligence and advice that is driving the sector’s expansion – we are very pleased to have Carterwood on board as sponsors of this year’s conference. We’re particularly looking forward to Carterwood’s session on ‘setting up shop’ in a new sector, as we are seeing a high number of interested parties who have yet to get their head around how to enter the retirement community market”.
