We’re delighted to celebrate and share the news that our managing director and co-founder, Amanda Nurse, has won the sector specialist award at HealthInvestor UK’s Power Fifty.
The HealthInvestor Power Fifty sector specialist award is presented to the advisor who has shown themselves most indispensable on transactions or as a source of strategic advice in 2020/21.
Amanda comments;
“As co-founder of Carterwood, I have always placed great emphasis on the ‘co’. In the early days, every success was down to my fellow co-founder, Ben Hartley. We have totally different but complementary skills and with my public facing role, I have the privilege of attending events and getting direct feedback from our clients.
Over time, as the team has grown, our successes have been due to the collective efforts of everyone. We have made mistakes, as all business owners do, but if there is one thing that Ben and I have been successful in, it’s consistently hiring a team more talented than us. On Wednesday night I had the honour of receiving the HealthInvestor Power Fifty sector specialist award on behalf of the whole team.
It was great to see an increase in the number of female professionals nominated, and it is a privilege to be part of the 2021 Power Fifty – congratulations to the other category winners.”
HealthInvestor comments:
“Having shown great commitment to social care over the past 30 years, Amanda was a very popular winner, with her peers recognising her as ‘the driving force in analytics and commercial due diligence for the elderly care sector’. Representing clients within both the not-for-profit and private sectors, Amanda has provided extensive disposal and strategic advice. More recently, Amanda has advised a range of private equity funds, financial institutions, and corporates, with a focus on the development of elderly care homes.”
The development of Carterwood’s data offering was noted by many, with fellow Power Fifty peers and voters commenting on Amanda’s contribution to the sector:
“Amanda and her team have become a key source of due diligence for operators, investors and funders with interests in property development in the sector.”
“Leading research allows for more informed and better invested opportunities.”
“Amanda and her team at Carterwood continue to provide concise and targeted market data aiding thorough diligence when evaluating potential investment decisions.”
