Carterwood and Santander deliver “Taking Your Business To The Next Level” Business Breakfast Briefing

For the second year running, Carterwood teamed up with Santander Corporate & Commercial in London to host a business breakfast briefing. The theme for this year’s seminar, held on the 15 June, was Taking Your Business to the Next Level.

Throughout the morning, a range of healthcare sector professionals discussed the key considerations needed to take a business that is good and make it outstanding.

  • Sandie Foxall-Smith, Director of Rose Health Partnership and Ex CEO of The Regard Group, highlighted some of the key dos and don’ts that you need to consider when taking your business to the next level.
  • Siwan Griffiths, Legal Director and Head of Care Homes, Capsticks LLP, discussed the regulatory considerations that you must consider when looking to grow your business.
  • Tim Prendergast, Paralympian Gold Medal Winner and Personal Development Manager at Santander, discussed his own experience of overcoming disability to achieve success and showed how it is possible for others to overcome their own challenges and obstacles.

Amanda Nurse and Tom Hartley from Carterwood discussed the “Top ten locations to build a care home” across England, based on the following criteria, assessed using Carterwood Analytics:

  • Market size;
  • Wetroom competition;
  • Average house prices;
  • The shortfall in new market standard care home spaces.

The briefing attracted predominantly healthcare operators from across the care sector. As with all our business briefing events, feedback was extremely positive. We asked for feedback on content, relevance and speaker engagement and all had over 70% of attendees rating them as 4 out of 4; comments made included, “Most interesting briefing I’ve been to this year”, “Very helpful”, “Stimulating speakers” and “Excellent session”.

Mark Pavis, Head of Healthcare at Santander Corporate & Commercial said “Our aim is to help the businesses we work with prosper. In hosting this seminar, we were able to offer healthcare operators some useful insight and support to make this happen.”
